INTRODUCTION TO PETROLEUM GEOLOGY (PET 204) 2022/2023 Session.

COURSE OVERVIEW

“Introduction to petroleum Geology” is aimed at imparting the students with the knowledge of the introductory knowledge of petroleum origin and exploration. Upon completion of this course, participants should be capable of understanding the following

• GEOLOGY AS A SCIENCE
• CRYSTALLOGRAPHY AND MINERALOGY
• PETROLOGY
• STRUCTURAL GEOLOGY
• PHYSICAL GEOLOGY
• GEOLOGY OF NIGERIA

This course was designed by Engr. Jude Odo in collaboration with Dr. Ngozi Nwogu of FUTO. All staff associated with this course, will act as facilitators for the discussion boards.

PREREQUISITESNone.

TIME COMMITMENT

1 – 2 hours per week.

GRADING SCHEME

All activities are due to be completed by November, 26th 2019, 22:30 GMT. You’ll be graded on weekly activities (100% weight in final score) You need to score 70% or higher to pass the course and receive a certificate. You can check your progress by selecting the “Progress” tab
