COURSE OVERVIEW
Drilling Optimization (PET 806)
The students should be able to explain the following:
1) that rig time is dependent on ROP.
2) ROP is dependent on W, N, Q and dn,
3) W & N have limits 4) Those factors determine $/ft, and
5) Compressive strength could be determined with rock mechanics approach.
This course was designed by Dr. Uwaezuoke in collaboration with Dr. Kelvin Igwilo of FUTO. All staff associated with this course, will act as facilitators for the discussion boards.
PREREQUISITES
None.
TIME COMMITMENT
1 – 2 hours per week.

GRADING SCHEME
All activities are due to be completed by December, 20th 2019, 22:30 GMT. You’ll be graded on weekly activities (100% weight in final score) You need to score 70% or higher to pass the course and receive a certificate. You can check your progress by selecting the “Progress” tab
