GUIDELINE FOR PROJECT WRITING

1. Every new chapter must start on a new page
2. The recommended format such as APA etc must be followed, both in in-text citation and in referencing
3. First citation should include all authors (not et al.)
4. Students are encouraged to write
5. No co-supervisors, use only supervisors in certification
6. Summary of literature review must be included
7. Figures are labeled under, while Tables are labeled on top or above
8. Equations, Figures and Tables in different chapters must be labeled accordingly, such as Equation 1.1, Figure 1.1, Table 1.1 and Equation 2.1, Figure 2.1, Table 2.1 for Chapter One and Chapter Two respectively. The same is applicable in all other chapters.
9. Appendices under Appendix A could be labeled A.1, A.2 etc
10. Full Titles of Supervisors, HOD and External Examiner must be used
11. Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.),
12. Font size to use is 12 (or 14)
13. Font type is Arial or Times New Roman
14. Use bullets sparingly. Rather use for instance Roman numerals
15. Page numbering is at the bottom center of pages
16. Paper size is A4
17. GOTO Insert/Page number/Format page numbers to arrange your document(s) to enable both Roman numerals and numbers (i.e. number format) to be used in the same report. Some guidance required here.
